Why Alpaca

Alpaca was known as the "Fiber of the Gods" by the Incan people.  Alpaca have lived for centuries in harsh high elevation climates where the temperature in a given day can swing wildly.  The adaptations that allowed the Alpaca to thrive in these conditions are also the characteristics that make Alpaca fiber one of natures' best materials.  A key characteristic of Alpaca fiber is its hollow core, which provides exceptional thermal insulation, keeping the wearer warm in cold conditions, while also allowing for breathability, preventing overheating. This same structure contributes to its lightweight feel and excellent moisture-wicking abilities, effectively drawing sweat away from the skin to maintain dryness and comfort.  Alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic, as it contains no lanolin, making it an ideal choice for those with sensitive skin. Alpaca is naturally resistant to odors and pilling, contributing to its durability.

Sizing for individual products can be found the product page.  Sizes are shown in U.S. sock size.  Hats are "one size fits most".

What about free local pickup?

If you are located in the Pocatello, Idaho area we do offer free local pickup. Please wait for notification that your order is ready before showing up for local pickup.  You will be sent the pickup address and times available.  Please let us know if a particular time doesn't work for you and we will be happy to reschedule.

Are your products made locally?

Many of our products are made in the United States.  We grow and harvest the fiber here then send it to a fiber pool where it is combined, processed and manufactured into quality products. Other products are made in America from Peruvian sourced alpaca and others are sourced and manufactured in Peru.  The origin of all our products is displayed on the details page of each product.

Do your products contain dyes?

We offer many choices of un-dyed naturally colored products.  These natural colored products are identified on their specific product page with the color choices of either fawn, brown or dark and light gray.  We also offer colorfully dyed products if that's your thing.

Our socks are proudly made in the USA—crafted with care from farm to foot. Many of our styles are created using alpaca fiber sourced from small farms across the country (including ours!), blended together and expertly knit at American textile mills. When you purchase our socks, you’re supporting local alpaca farmers, family-run businesses, and skilled U.S. manufacturers.
We also offer select styles made with fine Peruvian hosiery yarn, all thoughtfully manufactured right here in the United States. Every pair features a high alpaca fiber content, giving you exceptional softness, warmth, and durability—because your feet deserve the best.

Do you accept returns?

You are welcome to return any unused item(s) in the first 30 days at your own cost.  Items must be in brand new condition; unworn with tags and labeling intact.

Please contact us with any concerns about our products durability and comfort.  We are committed to offering a durable, quality product and do our best to personally test the products we offer.  If you are unhappy with how our products wear, we want to know about it and will do our best to make it right.  Care instructions must be followed in order to be eligible for a refund or exchange.

Do you use AI generated product images?

Yes.  Using AI generated product images helps up quickly and economically post "lifestyle" images of our socks.  We follow several rules to make sure the product images are never misleading: 
1) AI  images are always generated using an actual image of the product as input.  Images are only used if the final product accurately represent what the product looks like. 
2) Actual images of our products are always shown in addition to the AI generated image to ensure the consumer is shown an actual photograph of the product. 
3) We follow the terms of service and keep the AI watermark so consumers may easily identify AI generated product images. This watermark can be found in the bottom right hand corner of the image.
